The artist Nathalie David illustrates the fairy tales with collages of motifs by the artist Runge, fragments and details from his drawings, watercolours and playing card designs. The fairy tales can thus be experienced not only by reading but also by looking at them, making them ideal for reading aloud - either in Plattdüütsch or in the High German version opposite. The book is complemented by two CDs (audio book and radio play in High German), on which the fairy tales come to life with music by Vladyslav Sendecki, singing by Ursula Wittich and the voices of Hildegard Schmahl, Patrycia Ziolkowska, Werner Grassmann and Hermann Book. The artist Nathalie David, born in France, studied fine arts in Nice, Hamburg and Paris. She is a filmmaker, illustrator and photographer and realises artistic documentary films about personalities from the art world.
